Apple iPads continue to lead the tablet market in overall satisfaction. Moreover, Apple iPad Pro sets the gold standard for tablets, with leading scores in both overall satisfaction and satisfaction with specific device aspects.

A total of 76% of iPad Pro owners say they are Very Satisfied – with the larger-screen iPad Pro 12.9” (81%) outperforming the 9.7” model (72%). Apple iPad Air 2 (73%) also received high marks, followed by iPad mini 4 (60%).

Microsoft registers solid satisfaction ratings, as two-thirds (67%) of Surface Pro 4 and Pro 3 owners say they’re Very Satisfied.

Looking at satisfaction with a handful of tablet features, Apple holds advantages in app selection (64% Very Satisfied) and compatibility with other devices (40%), while Microsoft outperforms in capability to perform work tasks (48%).

Looking specifically at convertibles, satisfaction ratings for iPad Pro’s capability to perform work tasks (44%) trails Surface by only 4 points. This puts the iOS-based iPad Pro on par with Microsoft’s Surface, which runs desktop versions of Windows and Office.
